In April 2026, we were contracted to build a Decked Hammerhead Pontoon on a lake for a private client in King’s Lynn.

Our Decked Pontoons are built using RotoDock units as they provide excellent stability and a solid base upon which to attach decking. For this project, the RotoDock units were transported to site with the synthetic lumber deck support frames already attached.

Decking installed on top of the walkway but not the hammerhead or sides of the RotoDock units.

The Cladco composite decking, chosen by the client, was attached to the frames in our warehouse, then once onsite, the units were lifted into the water with a telehandler and fixed together, with the remaining decking secured over the joins.

The next job was to deck the hammerhead section and install the sides of the pontoon. For our Decked Pontoons, we cover the sides of the RotoDock units with decking to fully hide them, creating an attractive finish.

We attached a gangway made from another synthetic lumber deck support frame, with decking attached, blending the gangway into the pontoon to make one long walkway.

With a total length of 27m, including the 3m gangway, this hammerhead pontoon was moored using mushroom anchors, land posts and chains. We also installed a bathing ladder on the hammerhead for water access.

Our Decked Pontoons have the appearance of fixed jetties, with the benefit of being responsive to changing water levels. We have plenty of choice in accessories to create the perfect Decked Pontoon for your requirements and style, including handrails, lights, ladders, cleats, fenders and benches.
