Our team at Wardle Marine Services were thrilled to visit stunning Glen Affric in Scotland in October 2025.

Our client wanted a Decked Pontoon installed in the middle of a loch on their estate, for the perfect place to swim to and relax.

Decked Pontoons are made using RotoDock modules for floatation and stability, with a framework – in this case made from recycled polyethylene – to strengthen the structure and for attaching the decking.

Our team built the framework and cut the decking to size in our warehouse then attached the decking onsite. The pontoon couldn’t be fully constructed before delivery due to its size. We worked with our friends at Scott 2 Go to ensure the pontoon arrived in Glen Affric on time and in good condition.

For their Decked Pontoon, the client selected synthetic wood decking, which is both long-lasting and environmentally friendly. We custom built a matching ladder from the decking material, which came out beautifully and really helped to enhance the look of the pontoon.

The pontoon was transported by a workboat to its permanent location. It was then moored using chains and anchors that were already installed in the loch.

This was a really satisfying project for the WMS team, and the finished Decked Pontoon looked fantastic in place, set against the backdrop of the magnificent Glen Affric landscape.

The client was so happy with the finished result that we will be working on another larger project for the estate in 2026!

We would like to thank our client for hosting our team at the beautiful Glen Affric Estate and also for taking us clay pigeon shooting before we travelled home!
