Back in 2025, Denton Reserve approached WMS to build four small jetties as viewing platforms in a lake on the estate. We discussed their design, and they wanted us to use Vulcan Smooth Decking by Abodo – a New Zealand company that believes old-growth forests should be protected. Instead, Abodo specialise in timber products made from new-growth forests.

The Vulcan Smooth Decking is made from rapidly renewable softwood grown in New Zealand. It repels water thanks to being treated with a low VOC organic preservative system. It’s durable, beautiful, environmentally friendly and comes with a 15-year Built to Last Warranty. A fantastic choice!

Always accommodating, WMS sourced Denton Reserve’s desired decking to create exactly the jetties they had in mind.

In October 2025, we built two of the jetties, then we built the other two in March 2026. For each jetty, to start, we built a supporting framework, made from 60mm diameter galvanised tubes. We then constructed synthetic lumber sub-frames on top of that and finished with the Abodo decking, with the completed jetties fitting nicely into the surrounding area.
