Sailing Club Pontoon - Case study description
Our customer required a floating platform 2.0m wide by 24m long with a 9.0m x 2.0m hammerhead to aid launching, boarding, and disembarking sailing dinghies. Although an inland reservoir, the area is subject to extreme weather conditions with wave heights up to 1.0m. Fluctuation in water height of 3.0m throughout the year means that the customer will need to move the pontoon by up to 25m in and out of the reservoir. Also due to local restrictions piling wasn’t an option so the pontoon would need to be anchored.
Wardle Marine Services Ltd put forward a tender using Ez Dock 3.0m x 2.0m modules throughout with 350Kg dead weight anchors positioned every 10 metres.
Upon completion the customer was very pleased with both the services that they had received from Wardle Marine Services and the quality and stability of the pontoon system. The customer then opted to add a number of optional extras to enhance their pontoon including cleats, fenders, and access ramps.
